Response: "How to Make your Daily Routine Work for You" by Bayan Botanicals

When we think of self-care and self-love, we don’t often think about routine. It’s funny really, because our habits and our routines are what actually shape how we feel—emotionally, physically, and surprisingly enough—in our relationships. When your daily routine is grounding and helps you feel connected with your Self, you naturally are more present with others. You can start to experience real connections— a real sense of belonging both in the body, and in the world.


This short article from Banyan Botanicals offers a great perspective on daily routine, or dinacharya as its called in Ayurveda. My favorite quote from the article:


"What do you imagine when you picture the best version of yourself? Your daily routine should help you to get there. Spend some time asking yourself, “What kind of person do I want to be? Where can I improve? What is most important to me?” It’s not about criticizing yourself or wallowing in the things that you haven’t yet accomplished, but rather about connecting to your own unique purpose.”

These are the very questions that we explore in Awaken. Creating a daily routine is not about rigidity, or strict adherence to rules—its really about supporting who you want to be and how you want to feel. Crafting your daily routine is actually a self-care practice about deep connection to the life you want to live—and that is actually pretty exciting!
